Hey guys, back again for another band review. This next band is honestly my most favorite band on the planet right now, called Disturbed. This band was brought together by long time friends Dan Donegan (guitar), Mike Wengren (drums), and Fuzz (bass) played for a while in Chicago for a few years before getting up with lead singer David Draiman in 1997. Draiman had grown up in a religious family, which he rebelled against, had been expelled from five boarding schools as a kid. He eventually found a way to channel his anger and rage in the thrashing sound of Disturbed, and the band built up a fan base in Chicago's south side before they made a demo tape that led to their signing to Giant records, which was with the release of their first debut album “The Sickness” in march 2000. The band's fan base grew and gained more exposure from playing the mainstage in the 2001 Ozzfest, then broke off their own self-described “victory lap” across the US that fall. During this period also, they were able to record a new version of the WWE wrestler Steve Austin’s theme song, and was so good that it was able to get it played on the radio, and announce their working on a high-profile album called “Faith No More”, a tribute album.

Disturbed stepped into the studio after getting off the road and began to work on a new album that would reflect their growth as a band. Feeling experimental, the band worked with the producer Johnny K and mixer Andy Wallace in order to create an album that would compare to other classic metal bands. To show their fondness of Pantera, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and soundgarden, Believe was released in the fall of 2002, and was seen as a heavier, more varied, and overall greater record to their debut, reaching the top of the billboard 200. After finishing the tour, Fuzz left the band and was replaced by former Union Underground member John Mayer. The tour document Music as a Weapon 2 appeared in 2004, followed by the full-length studio album Ten Thousand Fists in September 2005, Indestructible in 2008, and in 2011 they released their fifth studio album, Asylum.

In July 2011, the members of the band announced that they would be going on a hiatus. The Lost Children, a collection of B-sides and rarities, was released in November of that same year. During their hiatus, Mayer joined Adrenaline Mob, and formed Art of Anarchy (with Scott Weiland as lead singer) David created an industrial metal band called Device, and Donegan and Wengren formed Fight or Flight. After a dinner between Draiman and Donegan, they decided to start making plans for Disturbed to return in early fall of 2015. They began working in the studio for the first time since 2001, with producer Kevin Churko, and produced their new album, Immortalized, which became their fifth consecutive studio album to top Billboard 200.
